It’s Never Too Late to Heal Diastasis Recti with Exercise
It’s never too late to restore core strength and function
Many women suffer from lingering core issues for years, and even decades, after their pregnancies. Common symptoms include back pain, core weakness, urinary stress incontinence, pelvic prolapse, and a protruding belly that doesn’t seem to go away regardless of weight loss or exercise. The vast majority of these symptoms can be improved and often fully resolved through correct training of the deep core muscles, coupled with healthy posture, breathing, and alignment in daily life. In addition to working with mothers for over a decade, I have also worked extensively with their mothers – yes, grandmothers. My oldest client was an 82-year-old woman. Through exercise alone, I helped her eliminate back pain, stop leaking urine when she coughed or sneezed, and she also finally resolved diastasis recti (abdominal separation, a contributor to all of the above listed symptoms) decades after she finished raising her children.

“5 years after my second child was born I was finally able to get rid of my diastasis without surgery. I am a 40-something year old mom with 2 children, ages 6 and 9. I have always been an avid exerciser but after my second child, all the exercise regimens could not get rid of my diastasis (center stomach muscles not coming back together above and below my naval, thus leaving a deep wide gap in the middle of my stomach).
