Perimenopause & Beyond:

The menopause transition is a gradual shift that can take up to a decade. Most women experience symptoms in their forties, and some even earlier. This hormonal shift is not just a physical change but an emotional and psychological journey that affects various aspects of health and daily living.

Each person’s journey is unique and they may experience a whole range of symptoms. The good news is that perimenopause may be the best time for a lifestyle intervention.

Early Buzz for RISE

"Following this program has improved my diastasis recti 20 years after the birth of my daughter. I like that it has many exercise options - levels of intensity and types of workouts - that I know are safe for my body. The variety of workouts and instructors keeps increasing which I love."
"I really believe this is a great program which is geared for all ages. Teaching the correct breathing techniques and muscle activation needed to do an exercise safely is missing from a lot, if not most, exercise programs."
"The workouts are ideal in every way—shorter programs, minimal or basic fitness equipment, no need to purchase expensive specialty items. I don’t feel like I’m being galloped through a long and exhaustingly-paced workout that doesn’t meet me where I am."
"I like the program very much. The daily exercises always bring something new to my body and while they are challenging, they are very doable."
"I have NEVER in my almost 40 years enjoyed working out - it was a chore, something I had to do to stay healthy - but this program has become a really enjoyable part of my life! I actually look forward to working out and getting stronger."

Our Story

In 2018, frustrated by the lack of care and support available to new mothers, we set out to improve the postpartum experience. Since then, the Every Mother brand has helped over a hundred thousand women heal from birth and related core and pelvic floor conditions. Through this work, it has also become obvious that there is another glaring gap in women’s health - menopause.

Despite symptoms that can persist a decade, there is not adequate support for people navigating the menopause transition. We created the RISE exercise program to provide that support and empower people with physical strength and movement awareness in line with their changing bodies. We believe that every person deserves health resources that meet them where they are. RISE is a step in that direction.

Am I in perimenopause or close to menopausal?

Perimenopause is marked by hormonal fluctuations as ovulation draws to a close, and it usually lasts 4-8 years, and sometimes up to 10 years. Some individuals begin perimenopause as early as the mid 30’s. Once you've gone through 12 consecutive months without a period, you've officially reached menopause and perimenopause is over.

The signs and symptoms of perimenopause vary widely among individuals and can include irregular periods, hot flashes or night sweats, vaginal dryness, mood changes, brain fog or decreased ability to concentrate, temporary memory impairment, headaches or migraines, joint and muscular pain, bladder problems, heart problems (such as heart racing or skipping beats, tightness), urinary leaking, sexual problems, changes in skin and hair, and metabolic changes, which can include changes in cholesterol, blood pressure, waist circumference, weight gain and loss of muscle & bone density.

How is this program different from the Every Mother exercise program?

RISE by Every Mother is designed specifically for individuals navigating the menopause transition. In addition to our clinically proven core and pelvic floor exercises RISE delivers a comprehensive exercise program that incorporates all of the exercise recommendations for women in this demographic, including aerobic exercise, strength training, as well as weekly balance and mobility/flexibility training.

Do you have a free trial?

We periodically offer a free trial option. If available, you will find it after selecting “Get Started”. Our Customer Experience team is always available to answer any questions to help you decide if RISE is a good fit for you. You can reach out to us at anytime at RISE@every-mother.com.

Does exercise help with hot flashes?

There is some evidence that exercise can help reduce the frequency and severity of hot flashes by improving thermoregulation, but it is not conclusive. That said, the gold standard treatment for hot flashes and night sweats is menopause hormone therapy (MHT), also called hormone replacement therapy (HRT). Hormone therapy is an individual decision, and it carries the potential for health benefits as well as risks. We encourage you to speak with your medical provider about how the known risks and benefits interplay with your personal health history so you can make an informed decision.
